Evangelist Helen Akpabio speaks against Christians saying “happy birthday”; says it’s the language of the devil

In a message to her church members, she explained why she doesn’t believe in using that phrase. She shared her thoughts while preaching during a church service.

According to her, she doesn’t celebrate birthdays every year like many people do. She said she doesn’t want to act like someone who just follows the crowd. She also mentioned that she doesn’t speak what she believes are the devil’s words. Instead of calling it a birthday, she uses phrases like “thanking God at 60.” She believes that it’s people, not God, who keep saying “happy birthday.”

Akpabio also criticized Christians who sing the birthday song in church. She said singing “happy birthday” on the altar is not right and should not be done.

Instead, she recommended that people should say “happy thanksgiving” if they want to show appreciation to God. She believes this is a better and more respectful way to celebrate.

She also described birthday celebrations as a form of idol worship in today’s world. In her view, celebrating birthdays this way is not from God.

The evangelist said Satan has given people certain words and traditions, and Christians should be careful not to follow them. She said the Bible teaches believers not to speak the language of other gods or take part in their rituals.

She advised Christians to think carefully before they say or do anything. Even if someone’s goal is to thank God, others might see it as worshipping a special day instead.

Finally, Akpabio reminded everyone that no one owns a particular day. She said every day belongs to Jesus and should be used to honor Him.
