Paris Saint-Germain finally won their first Champions League trophy last Saturday. The French team put on a brilliant performance in Munich, defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.
Kylian Mbappé, who now plays for Real Madrid, has spoken about his former team’s success. Despite leaving PSG a year ago, he said he feels no sadness or anger about their big achievement.
Mbappé shared his thoughts during a press conference before France’s Nations League match against Germany. He made it clear that he has no regrets about his move, saying his time with PSG had come to a natural end.
“I’m not bitter,” Mbappé said. “I didn’t leave too early. I just reached the end of the road with PSG.” His words show that he respects his past with the club and is focused on the future with Real Madrid.
Even though PSG’s historic Champions League win came after Mbappé’s departure, he remains calm and proud. He may have missed the trophy, but he knows he made the right choice for his career.
“I tried everything, and it was destiny that meant it had to happen without me,” said Mbappe.
“PSG winning the Champions League without me doesn’t affect me. I was happy. I think they deserved it.
“They’ve had so many years where they struggled. I’ve been there too; I’ve played in every Champions League stage in Paris except for the victory.
“They’re the best team in Europe.
“I don’t remember seeing a team win 5-0 in a major final.”
