Nigeria’s coach, Eric Chelle, spoke highly of two players after their recent friendly match against Russia ended in a 1-1 draw. He praised one player from each team who caught his attention during the game.

Chelle especially pointed out Russia’s striker, Nikolay Komlichenko, who wears the number 9 jersey. Komlichenko impressed Chelle with his performance at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

On the Nigerian side, Chelle also praised Olakunle Olusegun, who played his first match for Nigeria against Russia. The coach described Olusegun as very fast and said he has many good qualities. Chelle added that Olusegun keeps good control of the ball and shows strong character. However, he also mentioned that Olusegun, like every player, still needs to work hard to improve.

During the match, Russia took the lead after 27 minutes when Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi accidentally scored an own goal. But Nigeria fought back well. Substitute Tolu Arokodare scored for Nigeria in the 71st minute, making the score 1-1.

Overall, Chelle was happy with the game and the players who stood out. He believes Olusegun has a bright future if he continues to develop his skills.
