Elon Musk vs President Trump – “No business man in Africa would try what Elon is doing because there’s no freedom after speech in Africa.” Isaac Fayose (video)

Isaac Fayose recently shared his opinion about the state of free speech in Africa, saying it is very limited. According to him, people in Africa can’t speak freely without facing serious consequences.

He made this comment while reacting to the ongoing dispute between Elon Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump. Their disagreement has caught the attention of many around the world.

The issue started over Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” which led to both men exchanging public insults on Thursday, June 5. Their fallout made headlines across social media.

During the argument, Elon Musk posted on X, saying Trump would never have become president without his support. Musk also accused Trump of being ungrateful for the help he received.

Reacting to this, Fayose said such a public disagreement between a powerful businessman and a president could never happen in Nigeria or most parts of Africa.

He asked Nigerians to imagine a situation where Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, claimed he helped President Tinubu win the election. Fayose said that if Dangote did that, the government would punish him and shut down his businesses.

Fayose also mentioned that he has personally been warned to stop criticizing Nigerian politicians like Nyesom Wike. He said people told him he could face trouble if he continues to speak out.

He ended by asking an important question — when will African citizens be able to speak openly against their leaders without fear of being threatened or silenced?
