BREAKING: Akwa Ibom gov, Umo Eno finally dumps PDP, defects to APC

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Eno announced his defection on Friday in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State.

This move comes just a few days after the governor mentioned that it was time for a political shift.

Speaking during a town hall meeting in Ikot Abasi, Eno said, “It is time to move,” and added that Akwa Ibom should now connect with the APC at the national level.

He explained that his decision to join the APC came after consulting with many people and listening to their views.

To welcome him officially into the party, several APC governors visited Akwa Ibom State.

Among those present were Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

Other governors at the event included Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

Governor Umo Eno’s move marks a major shift in Akwa Ibom politics, aligning the state with the ruling party at the federal level.
