Spanish club Real Sociedad is planning to sell their Nigerian forward, Umar Sadiq, in the upcoming summer transfer window. This news was reported by DAILY POST.
Last season, Sadiq spent the second half on loan at another Spanish team, Valencia. While there, the 28-year-old played an important role in helping Valencia avoid relegation from the top league.
During his time at Valencia, Sadiq scored five goals in 23 games across all competitions. Despite his efforts, Valencia chose not to buy him permanently, as they did not activate the €9 million purchase option.
According to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Real Sociedad’s sporting director, Erik Bretos, has informed Sadiq’s agents that the club wants to put him up for sale.
Sadiq’s stay at Real Sociedad has been difficult due to injuries, especially a serious knee ligament injury that made him miss 45 matches.
Now, the Nigerian striker’s future at Sociedad looks uncertain as the club prepares to find him a new team.
