Wike confirmed this on Monday in Abuja. He hinted that he would help lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
When a reporter asked Wike if he would be leading the APC campaign in 2027, he replied by reminding them that he had already mentioned this before. He asked if they were only curious because he is currently part of Tinubu’s government.
Wike also said that he will personally handle the campaign for Tinubu in Rivers State. He seemed surprised that anyone would doubt this and asked, “Why would I say no?”
He added that during the last election, Tinubu did not get up to 10 percent of votes in the FCT. But in the next election, Wike believes Tinubu will win the area.
Wike told the media to stop asking questions when they already know the answers. He made it clear that his support for Tinubu is not a secret.
He finished by saying that he supports Tinubu because he believes the South should continue to produce Nigeria’s president.
