Unity Cup: Super Eagles clash not a friendly – Ghana coach Addo

The head coach of Ghana’s national football team, Otto Addo, has made it clear that their upcoming match against Nigeria in the Unity Cup is not just for show. He says the game may be labeled a friendly, but it means much more to both sides.

Ghana and Nigeria, two of Africa’s top football nations, will renew their rivalry on Wednesday night at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, England. It’s a game fans on both sides have been waiting for.

The last time these two teams met was in a friendly match held in Marrakech, Morocco. Nigeria came out on top with a 2-1 win.

But this time, Coach Addo wants a different result. He says his team is determined to win and give their fans something to cheer about.

Speaking to the Ghana Football Association’s website, Addo said, “People call it a friendly, but we know what this match really means. We want our fans to feel proud and to speak with confidence about their team. These games are about proving which side is stronger, and even small moments can make a big difference.”

The match will kick off at 7:00 pm Nigerian time on Wednesday. It’s expected to be a tense and exciting battle between two old football rivals.
