The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke after a newly built road in the Aduramigba area of Ido-Osun broke down.
According to reports, the road was damaged by heavy rain less than one day after it was completed.
The APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, said this showed their earlier warnings were true — that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in Osun State cannot handle building projects properly.
Olabisi said the state is going through a hard time because Governor Adeleke’s administration has failed to bring progress over the past two years.
The APC blamed the government for many problems and poor management in different areas. They said the government lacks honesty and the right skills to run things well.
He added that people in Osun State are suffering because the government focuses more on false promises than real work.
Olabisi also accused Governor Adeleke of causing problems by disrespecting the courts and traditional leaders since he took office in 2022.
The APC described the broken road project as a clear example of poor work done by the government.
They explained that the road from the Trade Fair Complex through Adeleke Estate to Ido-Osun Junction was paved on May 14, 2025, but washed away by rain the next day.
People living in the area protested because the road was done badly and broke quickly after it was finished.
The APC said the builders used laterite, a low-quality material, instead of the proper stone base. This is why the road could not last even one day of rain.
They expressed sadness that such an important road was built with cheap and poor materials.
The APC asked the government to reveal who built the road and to investigate what went wrong.
They also demanded that the road be rebuilt properly, using the right materials and construction methods.
The party claimed that government contracts are given to unqualified people, including fertilizer sellers who have no experience in building roads.
The APC warned residents to be careful around government projects because poor construction could put lives and property at risk.
They urged the people of Osun to watch closely and ask questions, saying that bad roads could cause serious danger.
After the protests, Governor Adeleke ordered a full review of the 4.76-kilometre road in Aduramigba to address the complaints about poor construction.
Adeleke’s spokesman, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed that officials from government departments were sent to inspect the road and look into the problem.
