LP crisis: Obi, Otti will be expelled – Party chieftain, Arabambi

The Labour Party is facing serious internal problems, and some top members may soon be removed. Abayomi Arabambi, a senior member of the party, said that Peter Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti might be expelled soon.

Arabambi said this could happen at the Labour Party’s next national convention.

In an interview with TVC, Arabambi blamed Obi and Otti for causing issues in the party. He claimed they are part of the reason for the ongoing crisis.

He also said the Supreme Court never removed Julius Abure as the party’s national chairman, despite what some people think.

Arabambi believes that a national convention is the only way to bring peace to the party.

According to him, the people causing trouble in the party are just a few selfish Nigerians who care only about their personal gain. He said the party will not allow them to destroy everything.

Arabambi confirmed that Obi, Otti, and others are currently suspended and that their expulsion is very likely.

He also mentioned a woman named Nenadi, who he claimed is not even a Labour Party member but still makes allegations and sends out official letters. He said she led the Obedients group that worked for Peter Obi and still supports him, but she’s not officially part of the party.

Arabambi went on to call another woman “the Headmistress of Corruption.” He said she has called Julius Abure corrupt, but she herself is in court for corruption and trying to make a deal with the authorities.

This all comes at a time when Julius Abure has been suspended by a faction of the Labour Party. The National Executive Council of the party said Abure was still acting like the chairman even though the court had removed him.

The suspension was announced by Nenadi Usman, the head of the party’s caretaker committee.

In response, Abure’s group suspended Governor Otti, Senator Ireti Kingibe, and four others from the party. Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the national secretary of the party, confirmed the suspension.

The Labour Party is clearly in a tough situation, with different groups fighting for control and accusing each other.
