Nigerian hip-hop star Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has responded to people calling him out for being disrespectful to women.
The issue started because of a line in his 2023 hit song “Cast” with fellow artist Shallipopi. In the song, he suggested that some women can’t afford things like wigs or luxury handbags unless they sleep with men. That part of the song didn’t sit well with some listeners, and he was accused of being misogynistic.
But in a recent interview with The Beat FM in Lagos, Odumodublvck denied the claims. He said, “That’s fake,” and made it clear he doesn’t agree with what people are saying about him.
He went on to say that he has actually been very supportive of women in the music industry. According to him, no other male artist in Nigeria has featured more female artists in the past year than he has.
“In the last year, I am the artist that has featured the most women in the game,” he said. “What kind of misogynist is that? That’s a fake one.”
Odumodublvck’s response is now part of a bigger conversation about lyrics, music, and how artists treat women both in songs and in real life. While some still find his lyrics offensive, others appreciate that he’s giving opportunities to female artists in a male-dominated industry.
