FG Receives 103 Nigerians Deported from Turkey

The Federal Government has taken in 103 Nigerians who were deported from Turkey due to various migration issues.

Some of these issues included expired visas and irregular migration.

Alhaji Tijani Ahmed, the Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), announced this on Friday during the deportees’ profiling in Abuja. Represented by Amb. Catherine Udida, the Director of Migration Affairs in the commission,

Ahmed said,

“Although 110 deportees were expected, only 103 arrived, all of whom were male.

“Some of them have been in the deportation camp for several months. Now that they are here, we will follow up on all the allegations mentioned in their profiling.

“We will review the profiling forms, as some of the deportees claimed their passports were seized.

He assured.

“We will coordinate with Turkish authorities to retrieve the passports since they remain the property of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”

Ahmed emphasized that the NCFRMI is responsible for all returnees, regardless of their status.

The Federal Commissioner stated.

“We also have a program to train and reintegrate them into society,”
