We Are Working to Stop It – Ghanaian Authorities Replies to Bimbo Ademoye’s Movie Theft Allegation

Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Bimbo Ademoye, recently accused Ghanaian TV stations of showing her movies without permission. She took to Instagram to share her concerns, claiming that her films were being aired illegally in Ghana.

In response to the allegation, Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Sam George, along with Kafui Danku, the CEO of the National Film Authority (NFA), spoke out. Both officials condemned the actions and assured that they were working to resolve the issue.

They made it clear that they are taking the matter seriously and are determined to stop such copyright violations from happening in the future.

Sam George wrote, “My attention has been drawn to your post thanks to the tag. I would be raising the issue with my colleague minister responsible for overseeing television content.

“I, however wish to assure you that our government is very respectful of intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same. I believe Ghana and Nigeria have so much we can continue to collaborate on for our mutual benefit.”

Kafui Danku also added:

“Hi ma’am, my management and I are working on putting a stop to this. You should see definite actions in a couple of weeks,” she wrote.
