EPL: I’ve been unfair to him – Guardiola apologizes to Man City forward

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has apologized to Jeremy Doku for not giving him enough playing time recently, admitting he has been unfair.

Guardiola has often left the Belgian winger on the bench in recent matches, making Doku come on as a substitute in their last three games. However, Doku played an important role when he came on against Everton, helping the team secure a 2-0 victory.

Since the international break in March, Guardiola has changed his tactics, focusing more on defensive strength and midfield control, which has led to fewer opportunities for players like Doku and Savinho.

Guardiola acknowledged his mistake, saying, “I’ve been so unfair with him in the last games, because I remember the games against Spurs and Brighton. Without him, it would not have been possible, but we haven’t attacked with wingers lately. We’ve played more with full-backs and midfielders.”

The manager expressed regret for not giving Doku more playing time, stating that it was entirely his decision and that he feels sorry for Doku and other players in a similar position.
