Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido has spoken about his past friendship with popular socialite Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, who is currently in prison in the United States for fraud.

During a recent podcast interview, Davido said that although he knew Hushpuppi and they were friends, he didn’t know anything about his involvement in fraud. He shared that he was surprised by the news and still prays for Hushpuppi, hoping he gets out soon.

Davido also talked about the difficult living conditions in Nigeria. He said that the hardship many people face sometimes pushes them to make wrong choices, like getting involved in illegal activities just to escape poverty.

He said, “Some people just want to enjoy life for a few years, even if it means getting into trouble later. It’s not worth it to be locked up, but I can’t judge them. Everyone has their reasons.”

The 30 Billion Gang star explained that while he saw Hushpuppi around and they hung out sometimes, he didn’t really know what he was into. He ended by saying, “He lived a good life, and I wish him all the best.”
