MC Oluomo challenges those mocking his poor spoken English to bring their children to compete with his

Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has responded to people who make fun of how he speaks English.

The leader of the road transport workers said he knows he doesn’t speak English perfectly, but he’s proud of how far he has come in life. He pointed out that many of those who mock him haven’t raised children who can compete with his own.

Speaking at a public event, MC Oluomo shared his story—from starting as a bus conductor to becoming the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). He said his success came from hard work and determination, not education.

He said, “They say I don’t speak English well, and laugh because I said ‘Kundus’ instead of ‘Kudos’. But is my son not ‘Kundus’? You that went to school, what have you done? Let’s see if your children can compete with mine.”

He added that his children are successful, live abroad, and are citizens of the US and UK.

MC Oluomo ended by saying that English is not his mother tongue—Yoruba is—and that people should focus on his achievements instead of how he speaks.
