Benjamin Best Nnayereugo, also known as “Killaboi,” has been extradited from Doha, Qatar, to Nigeria after being on the run for months. He was wanted for the murder of Miss Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, a 21-year-old first-class student at Lead City University in Ibadan.
According to a statement by the Nigeria Police Force, Killaboi was returned to Nigeria early on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The extradition happened thanks to the joint work of the Nigerian Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL, and Qatari authorities.
The police said that the victim’s family sent a petition on September 29, 2024, asking for help in finding and arresting the suspect. Investigations revealed that Killaboi killed Augusta at his home in Lagos on July 13, 2023. After the crime, he fled Nigeria and even posted a video online, pretending to confess, which was later seen as an attempt to mislead investigators.
With international help and biometric tracking, INTERPOL confirmed his identity in Qatar. He was arrested in February 2025, and after legal procedures, Qatar approved Nigeria’s request to bring him back.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised the teamwork between countries in fighting crimes that cross borders. He also thanked the Nigerian and Qatari authorities and promised that Killaboi would be properly tried in court. The police assured the public they are committed to justice and safety.
