Presidency debunks reports of armed men denying VP Shettima access into the villa

The Presidency has denied recent news reports that claimed Vice President Kashim Shettima was stopped from entering the Presidential Villa. In a statement released on Saturday, April 19, the President’s media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, said the story was completely false and made up.

Nkwocha said that some blogs were trying to spread lies to create confusion and make it look like there was a problem between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima. He said the claim that armed guards blocked the VP is not true and far from how things really work in the government.

Earlier in the week, the Presidency also denied another report about campaign posters showing Tinubu and Shettima running for the 2027 elections. They said those posters were just another attempt to stir political trouble.

Nkwocha explained that the President and Vice President have a strong working relationship and that such false stories are only meant to cause distractions. He added that Vice President Shettima remains focused on his work and will not get involved in fake media drama.

The Presidency assured the public that Shettima is fully committed to helping President Tinubu achieve the government’s goals.
