Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has said that supporting President Bola Tinubu’s second term is not a betrayal of his own political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at a rally in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Eno made it clear that his support for President Tinubu is a personal decision based on sincerity.
He explained that while some people pretend during the day and act differently at night, he chooses to be honest about where he stands.
“I openly said I would support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, and some people questioned me. But I don’t speak from both sides of the mouth,” the governor said.
Eno added that he has his reasons for supporting Tinubu, which he will reveal at the right time. According to him, what Tinubu is doing for Akwa Ibom State is enough reason to give him full support so he can finish what he started.
He also made it clear that supporting the president does not change the fact that he remains a committed member of the PDP.
Governor Eno mentioned that he is also receiving strong support for his own second-term ambition from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
