Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Press Secretary Speaks Out
The Chief Press Secretary to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Arogbonlo Israel, has strongly condemned the attack on the Senator’s family home in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State. He described the incident as a troubling act of violence.

Attack Confirmed by the Senator
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the Senate, has confirmed that her family residence was attacked earlier this week by unidentified gunmen.

Details of the Incident
The attack took place on Tuesday and involved armed men targeting the Senator’s family house in Kogi State. According to her team, the assailants may have acted under the assumption that the Senator herself was present at the residence.

Statement from Her Office
In a Thursday statement to Naija News, Arogbonlo Israel condemned the attack and suggested it was linked to the Senator’s firm opposition to Senate President Godswill Akpabio. He labeled the act a calculated move aimed at intimidation.

The Chief Press Secretary’s Statement
“We strongly denounce the attack on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home in Obeiba-Ihima. On Tuesday, armed men damaged windows in her grandfather’s house, mistakenly believing she was in town. Thanks to swift action by security operatives, the attackers were repelled,” he stated.

Link to Political Stance Against Akpabio
The Chief Press Secretary further linked the attack to the Senator’s bold stance against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who she previously accused of sexual harassment. He called on the Inspector General of Police to reinstate her security details immediately.

The Senator’s Account of the Incident
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also shared her version of events, explaining that her younger brother had been in the area with contractors inspecting projects she attracted to her district. Mistaking her brother’s visit for hers, gunmen attacked her family home later that evening. She expressed relief that the attackers were repelled by local civil defence teams and community members, and no injuries were reported.

A Call for Calm and Justice
The statement concluded with an appeal for public support and calm. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s team emphasized that her commitment to development and truth should not be met with violence.
