The All Progressives Congress (APC) is in mourning following the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulraif Adekunle Adeniji. On Thursday, April 10, 2025, news broke that Dr. Adeniji had been killed by kidnappers, even after they received a ransom payment of N90 million.

Dr. Adeniji was kidnapped on January 26, 2025, in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, located within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He was visiting his brother when armed gunmen, carrying AK-47 rifles, abducted him, his brother, and his wife. Tragically, his wife was shot dead because she couldn’t keep up with the group as they were taken to an unknown location.

The kidnappers held Dr. Adeniji for several months before killing him, despite receiving the large ransom. The news of his death has deeply shocked his family, friends, and colleagues at the APC National Secretariat.

As a result of this tragedy, the APC has decided to close its secretariat from April 10 to April 14, 2025, for a period of mourning.

Ubagha Abel, the APC Deputy Director of Administration, announced the closure, urging staff to reflect and pray for Dr. Adeniji’s family during this difficult time. Flags at the secretariat will be flown at half-mast in honor of the late director.
