Harrison Gwamnishu, who works as the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilisation to the Delta State Governor, has responded strongly to those asking him to stop talking about kidnapping in his community.
Gwamnishu, who is also known for being a human rights activist, has been raising alarm about the growing number of kidnapping cases in parts of Delta State. He says some of these crimes are allegedly carried out by Fulani herders.
In a Facebook post on Monday, April 7, Gwamnishu shared that two people were kidnapped on Sunday evening along the Issele-Uku expressway. The victims were an airport driver and his passenger, who were taken around 6 to 7 pm.
He made it clear that even though he holds a position in the government, he will not keep quiet about what’s happening in his community.
“Yes, I work for the government. But if you tell me to stop talking about kidnappings because of my position, you’re wrong. I’m in government to help my people,” he wrote passionately.
