President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group, stating that the United States will continue its military strikes against them until they stop attacking American ships.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Trump emphasized that the U.S. military is hitting the Houthis “harder and harder” every day, with the goal of eliminating their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the region.
Trump stated that the Houthis’ sponsors, Iran, and their leaders should expect more strikes. He added that the U.S. military would not stop until the Houthis are no longer a threat. The U.S. has been conducting daily strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen, targeting their capabilities to attack shipping routes and pose threats to the region.
The recent attacks come after the Houthis shot down another U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone, costing around $30 million. This is the third drone they have taken down since early March, and the second one since U.S. forces began daily military operations.
Trump’s message was clear: if the Houthis stop attacking U.S. ships, the strikes will stop. If not, the U.S. will continue its offensive, with “real pain” yet to come for both the Houthis and their Iranian backers.
