The Premier League has decided to introduce two summer transfer windows in 2025. This change is to help clubs adjust to the FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States.
At a recent meeting in London, Premier League clubs agreed to split the summer transfer period into two parts. The first window will open on June 1 and close on June 10.
This allows clubs, especially Chelsea and Manchester City, to sign players before the tournament. Both teams are the only Premier League clubs participating in the expanded Club World Cup.
All other Premier League teams can also buy and sell players during this time.
After closing on June 10, the second transfer window will open on June 16 and remain open until September 1. This gives clubs enough time to strengthen their squads for the new season.
With this new system, Premier League teams will have more flexibility in their transfer plans.
