I Apologize For The Insults You Took For Me – Sen Natasha Pleads With Ezekwesili

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has publicly apologized to former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, for the insults she endured during a Senate hearing.

The incident happened during a session of the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee, where allegations of s3xual misconduct against Senate President Godswill Akpabio were being discussed.

A heated exchange occurred between Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi and Ezekwesili. During the argument, Ezekwesili told Nwaebonyi to “shut up,” which led him to call her a “hooligan.” In response, Ezekwesili called him a “disgrace to the Senate,” while he said she was a “disgrace to womanhood.”

Following the incident, Senator Natasha took to her 𝕏 handle on Wednesday to praise Ezekwesili for her integrity and courage. She acknowledged that Ezekwesili took the insult while defending her (Natasha) and other women.

In response, Oby Ezekwesili assured Natasha that she would never be alone in her fight against the Senate leadership.

This show of solidarity highlights the ongoing struggle for justice and fairness in Nigerian politics.

“Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Ma’am, I apologize for the insults. Know you took them for me… for us … as a mother and as a leader. Know that you are a true icon of integrity, courage, and visionary leadership. Your unwavering commitment to good governance, education and democracy continues to inspire generations. A champion of accountability…Nigerians appreciate you. I celebrate your brilliance, resilience and selfless service. You are a hero,” she wrote
