Anambra guber: I don’t see any opponent against my re-election – Soludo

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has expressed confidence in winning the upcoming 2025 governorship election. He believes there is no strong opponent against him as he seeks a second term.

During a media chat marking his third year in office, Soludo stated that the people of Anambra appreciate the work of his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). According to him, they may vote for different parties in national elections, but they remain loyal to APGA for governorship and local government positions.

“If there is an election, and I am the candidate, I will be on the ballot. But who else is running? Which party has a candidate? So far, I have not heard of any,” he said.

The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) also mentioned that many people have encouraged him to run again. However, he added that APGA will decide who will be its candidate.

Anambra is one of the eight states in Nigeria where governorship elections happen off-season due to past court rulings. The other states include Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Osun, and Ondo.

As the 2025 election approaches, Soludo remains confident in his chances of securing another term.
