Popular Afrobeats singer, Rema, has spoken about the struggles facing Nigeria. He said that many people have lost hope because of these challenges. However, he still believes in the country and wants to contribute to its growth.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rema shared his thoughts on how some Nigerians feel frustrated. He said, “A lot of people are giving up on Nigeria. Many are angry at the country. But I still have hope. Not many people carry Afrobeats and our culture the way I do. Some may think I talk too much or that I care too much, but I just want to do my part.”
The Calm Down hitmaker also spoke about his experience at the 2025 Grammy Awards. He was nominated for Best Global Music Album but did not win. Despite this, he stayed positive and cheered for others.
“I was celebrating those who won. I had my fingers crossed, hoping I’d also walk up that stage. But when it didn’t happen, I accepted it. It’s not the first award I’ve been nominated for and didn’t win,” he said.
Rema continues to inspire many with his passion for music and his belief in Nigeria’s future.
