American Airlines plane catches fire

An American Airlines flight caught fire at Denver International Airport on Thursday, causing panic among passengers. The plane had been diverted to Denver before the incident occurred.

The aircraft, Flight 1006, was flying from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth when it had to land in Denver around 5 p.m. local time. As smoke filled the plane, passengers were quickly evacuated at the gate. Some had to exit onto the aircraft’s wing while the fire was being handled.

Videos shared on social media show thick smoke coming from the plane as passengers hurriedly got off. Many were seen standing on the wing before moving to safety.

A spokesperson for American Airlines confirmed that 172 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated from the Boeing 737-800. The fire was put out, and everyone was moved to the airport terminal. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
