The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has arrested a man, Anthony Chidi, at Mile 3 Market in Diobu, Port Harcourt, for producing fake alcoholic drinks in an unhealthy environment.
According to NAFDAC, Anthony was caught in a dirty shop washing used bottles of different alcohol brands. He refilled them with low-quality drinks and sold them as original. During the raid, officials found dirty empty bottles, ethanol, bottle caps, and packaging materials.
Chidi admitted that he had been running the illegal business for about a year. He got labels from Aba and bought used bottles to continue his operations. NAFDAC shut down the shop and seized all the materials for further investigation.
