Former President Muhammadu Buhari has praised the progress made in Nigeria’s economy and security during his time in office from 2015 to 2023.
Buhari shared these thoughts on Wednesday when he met with journalists from the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his home in Daura, Katsina State.
He recalled the challenges his government inherited from the previous administration led by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). According to him, his leadership successfully tackled economic difficulties and security threats, including terrorism.
Buhari stated that Nigeria’s situation improved under his administration compared to 2015. He also expressed confidence that the country would continue to develop.
He acknowledged the difficulties of leading a nation, saying that only those in power truly understand the challenges involved.
Before Buhari spoke, the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Yusuf Ibrahim-Jargaba, praised his efforts in fighting terrorism, banditry, and other security issues. He also commended Buhari’s dedication and selfless service, which he believes helped keep Nigeria united.
