Welcome to our latest update on the Champions League play-offs! This season promises plenty of excitement as top European teams battle it out for a spot in the last 16.
In the most anticipated tie of the play-off round, reigning champions Real Madrid will face 2023 winners Manchester City. This is the fourth time these teams have met in a knockout match, with Real Madrid winning in a penalty shoot-out last season. City will host the first leg before traveling to Spain for the return match.
- Celtic vs. Bayern Munich: Celtic, appearing in the knockout stage for the first time in 12 years, will take on six-time European champions Bayern Munich.
- PSG vs. Brest: Paris Saint-Germain will play against surprise package Brest in an all-French tie.
- Juventus vs. PSV Eindhoven: The Italian giants will battle the Dutch side, promising a competitive game.
- AC Milan vs. Feyenoord: Another clash between former Champions League winners, this matchup is sure to be a thrilling encounter.
- Atalanta vs. Club Brugge: Last season’s Europa League winners, Atalanta, will face Belgian club Brugge.
- Sporting Lisbon vs. Borussia Dortmund: Sporting of Portugal will go head-to-head with last season’s runners-up, Borussia Dortmund.
- Monaco vs. Benfica: Following a loss at home in the group stage, Monaco will now face Portuguese side Benfica.
The play-off ties are scheduled as follows:
- First Legs: February 11/12
- Second Legs: February 18/19
The eight winners of these play-offs will join the eight highest-placed teams from the league phase in the last 16. Teams already through to the last 16 include Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille, and Aston Villa.
