A royal expert says that if Meghan Markle loses her title as the Duchess of Sussex, she would be called Princess Henry.
Prince Harry’s full name is Prince Henry Charles Albert David, although he is commonly known as Harry. If Meghan is no longer the Duchess of Sussex, she would officially be called Princess Henry, following royal tradition where a princess takes her husband’s name
This same rule applied to Kate Middleton, who was technically Princess William, but is known as the Princess of Wales or the Duchess of Cambridge, after marrying Prince William in 2011.
Ingrid Seward, editor in chief of Majesty Magazine, thinks it’s unlikely that King Charles III will strip Meghan and Prince Harry of their royal titles, even though they stopped their royal duties in 2020.
