Jigawa State is in mourning as the mother of Governor Umar Namadi, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar, has passed away. The sad news was confirmed in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, on Wednesday.
Hajiya Maryam died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25, 2024, after a brief illness. The family described the loss as a moment of great sorrow but accepted it as the will of Allah.
“With deep sadness and full submission to Allah’s will, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi announces the passing of his dear mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi Umar,” the statement read.
The burial ceremony is scheduled for today, Wednesday, at 4:30 pm in Kafin Hausa, her hometown. The rites will be conducted in line with Islamic traditions.
Governor Umar Namadi and his family have requested prayers for the peaceful repose of Hajiya Maryam’s soul. They thanked everyone for their support during this difficult time.
