Charles Aburime, who serves as the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra State, confirmed the incident.
According to Aburime, the state government is keeping a close watch on the situation and plans to release an official statement soon.
This heartbreaking incident comes just a few days after another stampede in Ibadan, Oyo State, where more than 35 people, many of them children, lost their lives at a carnival.
