In Bengaluru, India, a major drug bust has led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Nigerian woman, Roselime Oluchi Ikeoha. Police recovered 12 kilograms of MDMA valued at approximately ₦13 million (Rs 24 crore).
Roselime, who had been living in the city for five years, ran a grocery shop in the TC Palya area. Police say she used the shop as a cover for her drug trafficking operations.
Bengaluru’s Anti-Narcotics Wing received credible information about her activities. Officers disguised as customers approached Roselime at the KR Pura bus stand, where they seized a small amount of MDMA and arrested her. A raid on her home uncovered 12kg of MDMA and 70 SIM cards registered under different names.
According to City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, this is one of the largest drug seizures in Bengaluru and the state of Karnataka.
Roselime confessed during interrogation that her customers included foreign nationals, college students, and private company employees. She also revealed that she got her supply from another Nigerian woman in Mumbai. Police are now searching for the supplier, who remains on the run.
Roselime initially came to India on a business visa but overstayed after it expired. She is now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act.
