A tragic incident unfolded early Friday morning at a popular nightclub and lounge in Benin City when a guest was shot dead, and his girlfriend was injured.

According to a source, the victim’s body was taken to a mortuary, and his girlfriend was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The deceased, whose identity has not been confirmed, had been planning to move into his new house by the end of December.

Details about the shooting remain unclear, with conflicting reports about what led to the incident. One source explained that the victim had spilled a drink on another guest, which caused a disagreement. He apologized, and the other guest appeared to accept it. However, after the apology, the guest stepped outside and secretly invited his friends.

When the victim got into his white Lexus Jeep, he was ambushed by gunmen who shot him inside the vehicle. The girlfriend was also struck by a stray bullet in her lap.

Another account suggests the shooting may have been linked to a failed business deal. It is believed that the victim may have violated an agreement with his business partners.
