The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently made arrests in Abuja, targeting individuals suspected of money laundering and internet fraud. On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, two men, identified as Joshua Ndu and Michael Uchenna, were detained in Al-Gamji Estate, located in the Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The EFCC acted based on intelligence reports that linked these two men to illegal financial activities. Upon their arrest, several valuable items were seized. From Joshua Ndu, officials confiscated a 2019 Mercedes Benz E350, a 2016 Range Rover, an Apple laptop, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, a Cartier wristwatch, and two necklaces. Items taken from Michael Uchenna included an iPhone 12 Pro Max and an Apple MacBook Pro.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that the suspects would face charges in court once the investigation is complete. This arrest highlights the EFCC’s commitment to cracking down on financial crimes in Nigeria.
