President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of her 66th birthday, describing her as his trusted partner, confidante and a woman whose compassion and faith have touched many lives.

In a heartfelt birthday message, the President paid tribute to the First Lady for standing by him through the different seasons of their life together, particularly during difficult moments when the future appeared uncertain.

“Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀’ — a good wife is her husband’s crown,” Tinubu said, also referencing the Book of Proverbs’ description of the virtues and worth of a good woman.

The President said Oluremi had given the traditional saying practical meaning in his life through her patience, courage, counsel and unwavering support.

According to him, the First Lady has often understood his concerns even when he could not put them into words, offering counsel before he asked and providing reassurance simply through her presence.

Tinubu described her as his “truest friend and confidante,” praising her willingness to speak honestly with him, even when the truth was difficult to hear.

He also acknowledged her role in building their family, saying their home continues to reflect her devotion, while their children and grandchildren have grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values of kindness.

The President further highlighted Oluremi’s longstanding humanitarian efforts, noting that Nigerians have come to know her for compassion, generosity and steadfast faith.

He recalled her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and her continuing humanitarian interventions through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said have benefited young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.

Tinubu also praised her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a compassionate voice and determined champion for those in need.

He said her compassion had never been limited by ethnic, regional or religious considerations, adding that she had continued to pray for and support people, including many she had never personally met.

Reflecting on their journey together, the President said the years had taught him the value of having a dependable life partner.

“We have travelled a long road together,” he said, recalling the difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayers they had shared over the years.

Tinubu concluded his tribute by reaffirming his love for the First Lady, saying he would choose the same path that brought them together if given the opportunity to begin life again.

“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.

The President thanked Oluremi for the life they have built together and prayed that God Almighty would grant her many more years in good health, happiness and joy.

“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi,” Tinubu said. “May the years ahead bring you the same comfort and happiness you have so freely given to me and many others.”
