A coordinated undercover operation by Thai police has led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer during a street dance festival in Lopburi province.
The operation involved a team of five male officers and one female officer who adopted undercover disguises to blend into the festival crowd.
Officers used the approach to discreetly identify and apprehend the suspect, who had been under investigation for alleged involvement in illicit drug activity.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Mekha Fa-wap-wap, was taken into custody after being found in possession of 53 methamphetamine tablets, over 200 plastic bags commonly used for drug distribution, and a mobile phone. Police also allege additional involvement in unauthorized gambling-related activity.
According to law enforcement sources, the tactical decision to use undercover disguises during the public event was intended to avoid alerting the suspect and to facilitate a safe and controlled arrest.
Following the operation, members of the police team shared a post on social media commemorating the successful arrest.
Authorities have charged the suspect with possession of a category one narcotic with intent to sell, as well as operating an illegal gambling device. He remains in police custody pending further legal proceedings.
