Iran has strongly criticized Donald Trump for threatening to destroy the country if it does not comply with demands to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Sayed Reza Salihi-Amiri reacted to Trump’s comments, calling the US President unstable and delusional, and said his statements are full of contradictions.

Earlier, Trump had given Iran a deadline and later extended it, demanding that the Strait of Hormuz be completely reopened to international shipping.

Over the weekend, Trump warned that if Iran does not allow free passage through the key maritime route by Tuesday, the country would face severe consequences.

In response, Salihi-Amiri said that while the Strait of Hormuz remains open to global traffic, it is effectively closed to nations that Iran considers its enemies.
