The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has urged Nigerians to come together and fight insecurity in the country.
In his Easter message to Christians across Nigeria, he encouraged people to live by values like sacrifice, hope, peace, love, and unity.
Yilwatda explained that Easter is the foundation of the Christian faith, as it reminds believers of the sacrifice, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
He added that Easter is not just for celebration but also a time to reflect on important lessons such as faith, strength, forgiveness, humility, and hope, especially during difficult times.
According to him, Easter teaches that sacrifice leads to success, suffering is not the end, and with faith in God, hope can rise again even in hard situations.
Yilwatda said the message of Easter is very important for Nigeria right now. He urged citizens to stay strong in faith and love for the country despite the challenges.
He also encouraged Christians to use this period to renew their commitment to doing good, showing kindness, staying united, praying, and helping others. He stressed that people should not only talk about faith but also live it daily.
The APC chairman expressed deep concern over the insecurity affecting many parts of the country and showed sympathy to families affected by violence, banditry, insurgency, and kidnapping.
He noted that the pain many Nigerians are going through is a shared national sorrow. He called for more unity, alertness, and cooperation among citizens and institutions to bring back peace and security.
He advised Nigerians not to allow fear or division to control them, but instead stand together, trust in God, and support efforts to restore peace and safety.
Yilwatda also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in tackling insecurity and stabilizing the country, noting that the government is working through reforms and support for security agencies.
He called for teamwork among all levels of government, security forces, community leaders, religious groups, and citizens to achieve lasting peace and justice.
He further urged Nigerians to use Easter as a time to pray for the country, its leaders, and security personnel who are working hard to protect the nation.
According to him, Easter is a time for prayer, reflection, and hope. He encouraged people to pray for healing, peace, and renewed strength for Nigeria.
Yilwatda expressed confidence that with faith in God, good leadership, and unity, Nigeria will overcome its problems and become stronger.
He ended by wishing Christians a peaceful Easter celebration and urged all Nigerians to remain hopeful, law-abiding, and committed to building a safe and united country.
