Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, who once sought the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, has officially resigned from the ruling party.
Nakudu, who contested for the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2023 general elections, announced his resignation through a letter addressed to party officials in Sundimina Ward, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
In the resignation letter, he said the decision came after careful thought and expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities he had as a member.
He also appreciated the support and encouragement he received from party leaders and supporters throughout his political career in the APC.
Nakudu stated that his resignation is effective immediately from Friday, April 3, 2026, and includes his withdrawal from all APC activities.
He previously served two terms in the House of Representatives (2007–2011 and 2011–2015) under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was a senator between 2015 and 2019 representing the APC.
Although he did not disclose his next political move, reports indicate that he plans to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is expected to formally announce his membership soon.
