Ex-deputy governor, Madumere dumps APC

Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Eze Madumere, has left the All Progressives Congress to join the Peoples Democratic Party, marking a major political shift in the state.

He announced his defection in a formal letter, explaining that his decision was guided by the need to improve governance and promote democratic values.

Madumere said he wants to work with others who share similar goals of strengthening citizen rights, youth development, and transparent leadership.

He noted that the decision came after careful consultations with his family, supporters, and political mentors.

The former deputy governor expressed gratitude to APC for the opportunities he had while in office but said his departure was necessary for progress.

According to him, internal disagreements and a lack of clear direction within the APC made it difficult to continue contributing effectively.
