The Nigerian Navy has dismantled an illegal refinery in Rivers State, recovering about 20,000 litres of stolen crude oil.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat oil theft and illegal refining activities in the Niger Delta region.
Officials revealed that the site was discovered during routine patrols, with equipment used for illicit refining destroyed on the spot.
The Navy stated that such illegal activities not only harm the economy but also cause serious environmental damage.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations to secure oil assets and reduce criminal activities in the region.
They also urged residents to support security agencies by providing useful information to help tackle oil theft.
