Accept outcome of 2027 election, focus on 2031 — APC to opposition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on opposition parties to stop disputing the results of the 2027 general elections and to prepare for the 2031 polls. Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, made the statement in Abuja on March 25, 2026.

Morka said the 2027 elections are concluded, and the mandate given to the APC by Nigerians is valid. He stressed that continued disputes are unnecessary and do not serve the country’s democratic interests.

He urged opposition parties to redirect their energy toward long-term planning for 2031 rather than dwelling on settled matters. According to him, focusing on governance and national development is more constructive.

The APC spokesperson emphasized the importance of issue-based politics and called for constructive engagement by all political actors. He added that distraction over past elections undermines national progress.

Morka further stated that the ruling party remains committed to delivering on its promises, highlighting governance and policy implementation as priorities. He encouraged opposition leaders to channel their efforts toward meaningful participation in democracy.

The party concluded that national development should take precedence over election disputes, noting that collaboration and focus on future elections will strengthen Nigeria’s democratic process.
