Former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet has suggested that Manuel Ugarte should leave Manchester United this summer to revive his career.
Poyet admitted he feels personally affected watching Ugarte struggle for playing time under caretaker boss Michael Carrick.
The former coach recalled that he wanted Ugarte at Chelsea before the midfielder joined PSG, believing it would have been a perfect move for him.
“Since then, he hasn’t progressed—first at PSG, now at United,” Poyet said, highlighting the midfielder’s stalled development.
Poyet emphasized that Ugarte needs to find the right club where he can play regularly and fulfil his potential.
The advice comes amid speculation over Ugarte’s future at Old Trafford, with fans and pundits debating the midfielder’s next move.
