The Wike-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially stated that it will not support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Party leaders argued that backing Tinubu would go against the party’s principles and the expectations of its members.
They emphasized that PDP will focus on promoting its own candidates and policies for the upcoming elections.
The faction accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of failing to address critical national issues, including security, economy, and governance.
According to the PDP leaders, any alignment with Tinubu would undermine the party’s credibility and alienate its grassroots supporters.
The Wike-led PDP reaffirmed its commitment to contest the 2027 elections independently, urging members to remain united and focused on party goals.
