Eid-il-Fitr: FFS enforces ‘no holiday’ directive for firefighters

The Federal Fire Service has announced a strict “no holiday” directive for its officers during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The order, issued by the FCT Command, means firefighters will remain fully active to respond quickly to emergencies across Federal Capital Territory.

According to officials, all units have been instructed to deploy maximum personnel and ensure equipment like fire trucks are ready at all times.

The Controller, Mohammed Suleiman Anas, emphasized that the service operates round the clock and does not shut down during holidays.

He also warned that festive periods often come with higher risks of fire outbreaks due to cooking, electricity use, and celebrations.

Residents were advised to follow safety measures and quickly report any emergencies, as the Service remains prepared to protect lives and property.
