Governor Babagana Zulum has condemned the recent explosion in Maiduguri, describing it as a cruel and senseless act. The incident occurred on Monday evening and affected innocent residents during the holy period of Ramadan.
In a statement released through his media aide, the governor expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families. He described the attack as inhumane and unacceptable, while offering prayers for those affected.
Zulum suggested that the attack could be linked to ongoing military operations against insurgents in areas like the Sambisa Forest. He assured residents that security forces are actively working to prevent further incidents.
The governor urged people to stay calm, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to authorities. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.
