Two tourists hurt after hot air balloon crashes into power cables in Mexico

Two tourists from London were injured after a hot air balloon accident in Mexico. The incident happened near the Teotihuacan Valley when the balloon reportedly lost control and hit power cables.

The victims, identified as Claire Wolstenholme and Nicholas Wright, suffered injuries during the crash. Reports say one of them is in critical condition after experiencing burns caused by electric shock.

Emergency responders treated the couple at the scene before moving them to a hospital in Mexico City. Authorities confirmed the balloon was operated by a local company, and the pilot has been questioned as part of the investigation.

Officials have launched a full inquiry into the incident, while residents nearby experienced a power outage after the cables were damaged. The accident has raised fresh concerns about safety measures in hot air balloon operations in the area.
